MRCP is a non-invasive MRI-based imaging test used to obtain detailed pictures of the bile ducts, gallbladder, liver, and pancreatic ducts. It is commonly performed to detect conditions such as gallstones, bile-duct obstruction, strictures, inflammation, and abnormalities of the pancreas or biliary system. Unlike ERCP, MRCP does not require inserting an endoscope into the digestive tract.
