The Troponin-I (Qualitative) Test is a blood test used to detect the presence of cardiac troponin I, a protein found in heart muscle cells. When the heart muscle is injured, such as during a Myocardial Infarction, troponin I is released into the bloodstream. Unlike a quantitative test, which measures the exact concentration of troponin, a qualitative test provides a positive or negative result based on whether the protein is present above a predefined threshold.
