Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE) is an enzyme of the glycolytic pathway that is found predominantly in neurons and neuroendocrine cells. In immunohistochemistry (IHC), NSE is used as a marker to identify tumors of neuronal or neuroendocrine origin.
