Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) is an oncofetal enzyme that is normally expressed in the placenta but can also be detected in certain tumors. In immunohistochemistry (IHC), PLAP is used as a cell marker to identify specific neoplastic cells, particularly those of germ cell origin.
