The Lupus Anticoagulant (LA) test is a blood test used to detect abnormal antibodies in the blood that increase the risk of blood clotting.

Despite the name, it is not related to lupus disease directly. The term “lupus” is historical because these antibodies were first discovered in people with lupus, but they can occur in many other conditions.
