A microfilaria detection test is a laboratory test used to identify the presence of microfilariae (larval stage of filarial worms) in human blood or other body fluids. It is mainly done to diagnose lymphatic filariasis, a parasitic infection caused by worms such as Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori.
